Kona Pulled Pork Blend Smoker Pellets

Let’s be clear… not everyone notices the difference in the flavor pellets they use for smoking, and that goes for any brand despite the quality. For those who do pay attention to those tiny details, these pellets certainly add a flavor that I’ve never before experienced. I can’t say that they are perfectly made specifically for pulled pork, as I will likely not use them for anything else, but they did give my pork a smoke ring and flavor that I enjoyed a lot. Again, so do others, and I don’t want to make something of nothing, but if you’d like to add to your repertoire of flavored pellets, you really can’t go wrong with these.

Good wood pellets for your smoker

I used to only use wood chunks for my smoker but I've not gone to the convenience and predictability of pellets. I usually choose the wood based on the smoke flavors but am now finding pellets based on the meats being smoked. Anyway this wood smoked well and smelled good.

I used these Pellets w/ my ninja woodfire xl. Really light, balanced nutty & mildly sweet. I smoked ribs & the Pellets produced a nice smooth mello smoke. Would recommend

Drooling Good Pulled Pork

Oh boy, I was the hit of the BBQ! I used these Pulled Pork pellets in my Ninja Woodfire Grill. I had half of a pork shoulder so decide to use the pellets to smoke it for pulled pork sandwiches. These Kona pellets are solid wood, no weird fillers so they burn clean and impart only the wood flavor, no odd chemical or non-wood taste at all.I do think the price is a bit steep, but the Ninja doesn't need a lot of pellets so in the long run, they probably aren't really as costly as they seem upon initial purchase. I recommend this brand of pellets.

Smoker pellets

These give a great smoky flavor to any meat, not just pork. They're easy to use and the bag will give me about 20-25 uses. There's no bitter or resinous flavor, just a mellow smoke that compliments the flavor of whatever meat I'm smoking.

Kona Pulled Pork Blend Smoker Pellets

We LOVE this brand of wood pellets for our Ninja woodfire grill and this blend has got to be our new favorite! We don't cook a lot of pork, don't let the blend name fool you, these add great flavor to beef as well. Some pellets give food an overly bitter taste, especially in the woodfire, not this blend. They have a rich smoke flavor that is slightly reminiscent of a camp fire but. So many pellet blends taste similar but I really think these ones stand out.

Versatile smoky flavor

It might say pulled pork on the bag, but these pellets work well with a wide variety of meats. Kona says the blend includes pecan and oak, both of which are versatile smoking woods. The pellets worked great in my electric smoker, burning easily and producing plenty of smoke. As usual for Kona, these pellets are thinner than some of the other brands, so I never worried about clogs or jams in my smoker's auger. The resealable 2lb bag is a convenient size, provided you're using the pellets for flavor not heat. All in all, great quality and smoky taste. Recommended.

Great for ribs too

I have to admit that I don't have a Ninja grill or a pellet smoker. What I have is a wood chip smoker and I used these to supplement my chips to stretch them out. As a Vine reviewer, I get these for next to nothing, so why not? They worked great mixed in with some apple wood chips when I smoked a rack of babyback ribs and I'm using them now on a brisket. Smoking meat is wonderful!

Good Smoke Flavor But Pricy

Kona brand has great smoke flavors. And this blend is specifically made for pulled pork or just pork meat which is even better. However as Ninja Woodfire grill owner, there is misleading information. The pellet hopper needs to be filled up in order for the smoker to ignite & work. So 1/2 or 1/3 fill up for 80 times use is wrong information. And I've measured a full cup of pellet, and it came out 0.114 lbs, so for 2 lbs of bag, I can use about 17.5 times which is bit pricy in my opinion.
