Don’t Laugh At What I Do With These

I ordered these to put in my dogs’ water bowls. We live in the desert, and although we have AC, the dogs’ water can still get kind of warm. I’ve been putting ice in their water almost since they were puppies, so they expect, and LOVE, cold water. I actually have whisky ball ice makers that I use for one of the really big bowls, and their water fountain, lol. We have a lot of water bowls around the house, so I like to keep the water cold for as long as I can. These Kona Ice Pals Kids Ice Pack Lunch Box Size do a really good job of keeping it colder than room temperature for several hours. I’ve added these to my stash so they can be swapped out twice a day. And they are so cute! 5 Stars. (I told you not to laugh).

Fun and useful

Cute and useful ice packs. The grandkids take lunch every day, and each have one of these reusable packs in their bag. They're flat, they freeze quickly, they're the right size, the ice/cold lasts a long time, they clean off easily with water. My package had fallen apart during shipping.

An Oddly Lengthy Backstory for Ice Packs

These are thin ice packs that easily fit inside a kid's lunch box, even better if they have a zipper pocket inside the lunch box - even 2 of these will fit. They come in 3 cute animal shapes, and there are 2 of each. That's kind of the end of the story. They work! But the best part of this is that there's also an incredibly detailed backstory printed on the packaging that attempts to make these ice packs some kind of children's Saturday Morning Cartoon story. It's kind of ridiculous, but in the best way.We love these - they replaced the regular, boring, blue ice packs and that's perfect for a kid.

Cute and work well

These little icepacks are definitely not the usual shape, but my kids think they are fun. They stay frozen for hours and keep everything nice and cold. I have even used 2 on the bottom of an open-top bag to keep items cooled, but not super chilled. They also work well for owie-packs, but I would wrap them in a towel if they are straight from the freezer because they are very cold.

Cute, Kid-Friendly Ice Packs That Get the Job Done

I had the chance to try the Kona Ice Pals Kids Ice Packs, and I must say, they are an adorable addition to any child’s lunchbox. The playful designs—featuring dinosaurs, unicorns, and narwhals—add a fun element to lunchtime that kids will love. These ice packs are well-made and seem durable enough for daily use, which is important for busy families with little ones who need a reliable way to keep their food cool. The packs are slim enough to fit comfortably into standard-sized lunchboxes without taking up too much room. Although they are made from hard plastic, I didn’t find this to be a problem, and neither did my cousin's younger siblings who tried them out. The hardness actually adds to their durability, making them less likely to puncture compared to softer gel packs, which could be a plus for parents worried about leaks. One thing worth noting is that while they do stay cold for a few hours, they aren't designed to stay frozen all day. This is great for school lunches, but probably not ideal if you’re packing for longer outings. They are very easy to maintain—just a quick wipe-down after use—and freeze quickly overnight, making them ready for the next day.Overall, if you’re looking for a set of ice packs that are both functional and fun, these are a great choice. They aren’t soft or flexible, but their durability and cute designs more than make up for that. I think they would work perfectly for kids’ lunches or even for cooling small bumps and bruises on a hot day.

Large Ice Packs

The Ice Pals are mighty cute. They even come in a cute box. They are pretty large. I was surprised by the size when I received them. Larger than your hand. It's a bit too big for a toddler lunch bag, but I guess it will keep the whole bag cool.Although the listing says soft ice packs, they are hard plastic. The shapes and colors are very cute.

Good variety and quantity for the price. Big enough for their lunch bags and hold up for a few hours. Cute enough too for use when it’s hot or they get a bump they want to cool off.

Great for lunch boxes!

Super cute! Who wouldn't love to see these in a lunch box.Seem to be well made, and durable. (They should not be used as a teething toy for a little one.)The advertising says soft... no. not soft. They are smooth, but hard plastic. I don't think that these would not be good for injuries. BUT perfect for lunches!

Super cute

My four year old started preschool this year and I got these for her lunch box, they’re just so perfect! They’re the perfect size to where they don’t take up a lot of space but still help keep her food nice and cold. It’s also a plus that they come in such cute designs!

Kids love them

These were a bit thinner than I anticipated, but they work! I have 3 kids that take lunches to school, and they each love one of the different included animals! It worked out perfectly! Since there are 2 of each, they are able to take both ice packs with them if needed. Otherwise, they leave one in the freezer and take one with them. So if they forget their lunch bag at school one day, there's an extra to take the next day. They are super cute, freeze well, and hold up to my kids throwing their lunch bags around school campus 🤦‍♀️🤣

The narwhals are the best!!

These are great! My toddler has been using the narwhals in her lunchbox for almost two months now. They retain cold well, refreeze well, and we have not had ANY issues with them leaking or anything like that. The shapes are so cute. The 2 narwhal ones are our favorite to use because it seems to have the most surface area for ice. So this is entirely a guess, but my GUESS is that the narwhal is the most effective. Anyway, my kids like the unicorn and dino shapes too! This is a fun set.

Cute!

Got these for my 5 and 7 year old girls to try out in their school lunches. They work well and the girls like them. They are firm and inflexible when frozen. I will say, the two Narwhals are much thicker than the Unicorns or Dinosaurs. The Narwhals stay frozen longer than the other animals. When my kids get home from school, the Narwhals are still very frozen. The other animals are not nearly as cold or frozen by the end of the day. Now it doesn't matter in my situation because it stays cold for lunch, but may affect others.

Fun and Unique!

These ice packs are super cute. I love the different characters (they even have names!) and imagination included. They have a good cold length, which I really like. They are thicker than some of the other kids' lunchbox packs we have used and the shapes aren't as convenient to fit in our freezer door, but their thickness is probably what helps them stay colder longer. They are solid, not flexible (my personal preference) and I don't worry about them breaking, cracking or being crushed.

Cute and functional.

I got these ice packs for my daughter's lunch box and she loves them. The unicorn is her favorite! They are thick icepacks and stay frozen/cold for a while. They are the perfect size for her lunch box too.

Perfect for school lunches!

These ice packs are adorable! The colors are fun and it comes with 2 narwhals, 2 unicorns and 2 dinosaurs. For the price you really can't beat that. We've been rotating one per day in school lunches for a month now and have had zero problems. They freeze well and keep the lunch nice and cool. They're usually still cold when I take them out of the lunch box 12+ hours later. My daughter likes them so much that she sometimes asks me to put one of each style in her lunch box.

last about 6 hours

This review is for the Kona Ice Pals Kids Ice Pack for lunch. You get several ice packs, which is nice, but they don't last as long as other ice packs I've had, which I don't love. However, they do the trick to keep things cool from home to school and back. They don't sweat, which is a plus, and they are very easy to handle and pop in and out of the freezer. The fun shapes and colors are also a nice touch.

Perfect ice packs for lunchboxes

These are so cute for lunches. They are smooth plastic, no sharp edges on mine. They froze nicely and kept my son’s food cold in his lunchbox all day long. They actually work well as boo boo ice packs for the kiddos as well. Super easy to clean, I just used hot soapy water and let air dry after.

Great and cute value

Cute for kid (or adult) lunch boxes. Our four year old tells us each morning which one to put in and we HAVE to pick the right one. They stay cold well in her insulated bag and are very cute, just as pictured. When she got them she wanted to play and know their names and lo and behold there was a cute cheesy story on the box with their names and backstory, which was such a fun little detail that for a 4 year old is literally everything. We've been required to keep the box because it has such cute pictures on it, so extra props for that and the prompt shipping. Very happy with this product so far.

Practical and cute for lunch boxes!

The pack of 6 covers boys and girls interests. 2 unicorns, 2 narwhals, and 2 dinosaurs. Perfect for my son and daughter's snacks/lunch boxes. The dinosaur and unicorn are a little larger, but will fit in lunch boxes - perhaps wont fit in a smaller snack box. Stays cool fairly long - not the best for staying frozen, but good enough for early lunches. It is easy to wash and re-use as it is all contained in a soft mold.

Useful

I took off a star. Because the description said that this is soft ice packs. But in reality, the ice packs are actually made out of hard plastic. You do feel like there is a gel inside which is what it freezes up and keeps the food cold, but the ice packs are not going to mold to the items and the lunch bag at all. In reality, this is just hard plastic shaped like dinosaurs. I do have to say that I do not have any gripes with it.Because I feel like it is made really, really well and it serves the purpose of acting as ice packs.

Sturdy gel filled ice packs

Once the gel filled plastic packs are frozen, they are functional to keep food or other items cold in a lunchbox or small cooler. There are 6 ice packs, two each of unicorn, dino, and narwhal…pretty cute! A good value that adds a little color and fun while “packin a lunch”

I liked these, I think they'll be

much more sturdy and substantial than the gel packs I ordered, which were smaller and didn't stay cold. I just wonder why these are hard and not soft. They're about the size of an adult hand, heavy and large. I get why they're hard, softer packs are easier to puncture and you don't want the gel around little kids, but they seem oddly too big and will take up a lot of space in a kid's lunchpack. Besides that, I am glad to have them and they do the job well.

cute and effective

These ice packs are cute, the designs and colors both are commentary. The ice packs are easy to freeze and clean. They help keep my kid's lunch and snacks cold. I wouldn't call this soft ice packs as I believe soft ones to be more malleable but these are still. Doesn't impact their effectiveness as keeping things cold.
