High Quality Pellets

These “Brisket Blend” pellets from Kona are a nice mix of Mesquite and Oak that goes well with nearly everything I cook. I tried using mesquite charcoal and even chunks of mesquite wood in my Green Egg barbecue, but I found that most of the smoke was gone by the time the coals were ready for cooking. From trial and error, I’ve learned to use hardwood charcoal for heating and good quality pellets, like these from Kona, for generating the smoke. Once I have a good bed of coals established, I put the pellets into a smoke tube and place that tube directly on the coals; a couple of minutes later, the smoke is rolling and I can start cooking. This assures that 100% of the smoke is being released when it actually matters. I find that putting one cup of Kona pellets in the tube will generate smoke for about an hour of cooking time, which is usually all I need. I like that the Kona pellets are clean and uniform in size and there really is no significant ash remaining in the smoke tube when I’m done.

Perfect size for tailgating or a pizza oven

This smaller 2 pound bag is great for tailgating, camping, and pizza ovens. These pellets do burn, hot and clean with very little ash as stated on the bag.For the price, I’m using this with my portable pellet pizza oven. It does an excellent job, and I don’t have to use as many pellets. It’s a little pricey to be using on my large smoker. For that, I buy 20 pound bags.If you live in a very humid area, I would recommend storing this in a plastic container. The manufacturer punches a small hole towards the top left of the bag. I would imagine this is to keep humidity from being trapped in the bag, but if you live in a humid area, it could backfire on you.I like these pellets, they work excellent, and I would recommend trying them.

Good quality for the price, works well with many different grills and smokers

I've used this brisket blend twice now and it seems to have a good flavor without too much smoke. The smokiness is not too strong but does penetrate into the food, even on cold smokes. You get a nice amount for the price as you don't have to use much of this product, which is a great thing when it comes to smoking. I like how they have the different flavors and blends, so you can try different meats and vegetables to match and pair with the different wood blends. For the price I think is acceptable, and it works well with a variety of different dishes you want to create when it comes to smoking foods. Well done four stars

Great Smoking Pellets

Kona Brisket Blend Smoker Pellets work well. I use them in a pellet smoke tube and they have an excellent burn time. Other pellets I've used in the same tube don't last as long. I was able to get an extra hour out of these. They provide a nice clean smoke no off flavors or bitterness.

Good smoker pellets

These seem to be good quality. They have a nice flavor, and are well packed. A bit pricey, but they seem more targeted than others.

Good but Expensive

Let me preface this review with the fact that I ordered these thinking they were pellets for a traeger smoker, not realizing the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill was a completely different type of smoker/grill. Having said that, these pellets seem to be exactly the same as those I use in my traeger, so I think I can still provide a useful review. The pellets seem to be high quality. There was minimal dust in the bag I received, which is really important for pellet smokers. Although branded as a brisket mix, these pellets would be an excellent choice for cooking any kind of meat in my opinion. As much as I liked these pellets, I cannot justify the price. Even if you don't need to use a whole lot when cooking on the Ninja grill, $15 for a small 2lb bag of pellets seems crazy to me. And if you can use these pellets on the Ninja, you can certainly use the Traeger or other high quality brands out there that have similar type mixes for a fraction of the cost. But, if you have the money and don't want to store a 20lb bag of pellets, this could be the right pellets for you.

Good Smoke Flavor But Pricy

Kona brand has great smoke flavors. And this blend is specifically made for Brisket which is even better. However as Ninja Woodfire grill owner, there is misleading information. The pellet hopper needs to be filled up in order for the smoker to ignite & work. So 1/2 or 1/3 fill up for 80 times use is wrong information. And I've measured a full cup of pellet, and it came out 0.114 lbs, so for 2 lbs of bag, I can use about 17.5 times which is bit pricy in my opinion.

Flavorful and versatile blend

These pellets did great in my electric smoker. Kona describes this blend as including mesquite and oak, which is a solid combination considering that mesquite can be a bit strong on its own. The label says the pellets are for brisket, but of course they work well for other hearty foods like steak or lamb. I was happy with the amount of smoke produced, and the slim pellets fed easily through my machine's auger - no worries about clogging or jams. Overall, good quality and flavor, and I like the convenience of the resealable bag.

Good smoke.

I have gotten Kona pellets before and wanted to try this new flavor. I smoked a brisket yesterday and was satisfied with the smoke flavor. It wasnt to strong and the meal was enjoyable. I use a hanful of pellets on my regular weber kettle and it works as good as wood chips. This bag will get me around 7 uses.
