Kona 100% Apple Wood Smoker Pellets for Ninja Woodfire & Smokers
Kona 100% Apple wood pellets are pure apple hardwood, no fillers and no sprayed-on flavor oils, made for sweet, mild smoke that suits poultry, pork, and seafood. They're sized for the Ninja Woodfire's smoke box, where you burn only about half a cup per cook, so a little goes a long way.
Flavor profile
Apple is the gentle one. Light, slightly sweet, and fruity. It adds aroma and color without overpowering delicate food, and it's the easiest fix when other smoke has tasted too sharp.
Best for
Chicken and turkey, pork chops and ribs, salmon and white fish, and anything you want to keep mild. It also pairs well with a bolder wood like hickory when you want more punch.
Why the wood matters
Most of what goes in a smoke box is fuel. This is flavor. Kona uses real, mature hardwood that's actually the species on the label, with no fillers, binders, or flavor oils. I spent a decade as a polymer chemist before this, and the lesson stuck: raw material decides the finished product. Clean wood gives you thin blue smoke instead of the thick white smoke that turns food bitter.
How to use it
In the Ninja Woodfire, load one scoop, about 1/3 to 1/2 cup, into the smoke box for roughly 30 to 90 minutes of smoke depending on temperature. Works in other smokers too: drop it in a smoker tube or sprinkle over charcoal. Not designed for hopper-fed pellet grills like Traeger.

The Kona applewood pellets used the right way made me truly appreciate my Ninja wood fire grill. The smokiness was thru and thru the meats. Never use wood chips in these grills because it will smother the circulation and you will not get the smoke flavor you deserve. The Kona apple pellets gave my chicken and fish a flavor that smelled like it came off of a charcoal grill. I was so pleased and now Ii am smoking cheeses, wings, bourbon, tequila, you name it. Kona is a high quality competition style pellet. The Kona pellets burn long and strong and clean. Incredible value for the money, the 2lb size will get you at least 20 or more grilling sessions with your Ninja wood fire grill. These two were made for each other!
