Your grill grate shape affects the best brush angle. Here's a quick reference:
Triangular Grates
Tilt the brush slightly to match each angle.
Round / Oval Grates
Angle off-center to wrap around the curve.
Flat Bar Grates
Hold flat and use short strokes.
Angle It. That’s The Trick.
Don’t hold the brush straight behind the head (6 o’clock). Angle to the 5 or 7 o’clock position so the coils wrap around the grate.
