For best results, follow these instructions: 1) Preheat grill. 2) Fill a small container with water to dip the brush frequently while brushing. This creates a steam cleaning effect when the wet brush touches the hot grill for deep cleaning. 3) Work in square sections defined by horizontal grates. Do not glide over horizontal grates as with a wire brush. 4) Angle the brush slightly backward for a deeper clean, depending on the diameter of your grill grates.

My husband and I saw the horror stories about pieces of wire grill brushes being ingested and harming people, so we did some research on wire free options. This was our winner after research, and I�m doubly confident in that choice after over a month of use. We grill at least once per week in the summer. There is a bit of a learning curve to using this brush, but once you figure it out, it�s a breeze. Our grill is clean, and we are confident that our food is safe.
I cannot wait to use this! A friend of mine recommended it as she just loves hers. This tool is sturdy and well made. Stainless steel nice and heavy. The handle is long and easy to grab and control. Seems like it should be way more expensive. I am really impressed by the quality.I have no worries as how it will work. My friend got one as a gift. She dips hers in water and glides it along the grill grates and she said it is like steam cleaning the grill . Really gets the grill clean and the way the brush is designed it grabs much of the under the grill grate gunk off to.Her brother bought it for her. He lives in Texas and said one of the most common ER visits s is due to someone having a steel bristle from a regular grill brush lodged in the throat. To ensure her safety he bought her the Kona grill brush. I�m thinking of buying another one as it makes a great back massager too..lol
After hearing about various cases of people ingesting wire pieces from grill brushes I wanted a safer product to use. I will use this for a month and if it continues to do a good job on my grill, I will purchase more and give to family and friends. It is very heavy and well built, I'm pleased with this purchase.Update 4/17/17: Cooked hamburgers on the grill. The brush does a fair job on the grill with heavier residue, however it takes a lot more effort than a wire brush. I think what it is missing is a scraper. I cleaned it with water on a hot grill as the directions state. As you can see from the photos it did an okay job. I'm not sure I will purchase more for family and friends but I will keep this until I find a similar one that comes with a scraper.
Bought this based on recommendation from America's Test Kitchen. Removed about 90% of built up glunk on my gas grill grates on first use. Waiting to see if more will be coming off on future uses. REALLY like the bristle-free design, which was the major benefit pointed out on ATK.

I think this brush is better for cast iron type grills than wire grills like the one on my Weber grill. This brush does a good job on the wire grill except for hard cooked on foods like seasonings and rubs that can burn. The steam actions can't quite break down these hard cooked items. That said, other than those items the brush does a very good and deserves 4 stars.

It’s ok—pros: no bristles for sure, cons: hard to use-width of coils doesn’t fit very well in grates, have to angle it, so becomes awkward.

This brush is decent. I like the fact that it's much less likely to shed any dangerous wires in your food, but it also doesn't quite do as good a job as the wire brushes. But with some effort it gets my grills clean. It seems durable and is comfortable to use. The handle is a good length in case you want to use it while the grill is hot.
Holiday gift
Looks substantial and will likely work great, but I've not used the grill in recent weeks.

This is the grill brush you want! It�s incredibly durable and really cleans your grill. I finally threw away my old bristle brush away. If you�re thinking of purchasing don�t hesitate it�s totally worth it.
So much better than a wire brush! Easy to use and makes cleaning the grill fast. I bought one for myself and gave one to my brother and he is very happy with the way it cleans. It is very sturdy and is easy to grip.
It appears to be a great tool for cleaning my grill. I wanted something that was not wire bristles due to small pieces of wire possibly staying on the cooking surface. However, due to traveling i have not used it yet.
This is the best grill brush i've used so far. It's different in how the scrubbing portion is made to reduce the issue of bristles breaking off and potentially getting into food. Make sure you read the instructions and watch the video that shows how to use it. Basically the manufacturer recommends that you use water with it and dip the brush in water before scrubbing. it is far more effective when you do this and it keeps the brush cleaner as well. the brush is sturdy and seems to be made very well.
