Smoke and Sizzle: Cooking on the Ninja Woodfire Grill with Kona Wood Pellets
If you've ever wished you didn't have to pick between grilling, smoking, and air frying, this combo is worth a look. Pairing the Ninja Woodfire Grill with Kona Wood Pellets gives you one piece of equipment that does all three, plus real woodfire flavor.
First, the grill itself. It's a genuine all-in-one. Between the woodfire technology, convection heating, and air fryer function, you can build deep, smoky flavor into just about anything you cook. Steaks, wings, a whole brisket, it handles all of it. It also has a big cooking area, so you can feed a crowd in one go, and the convection heat speeds things up for busy weeknights.
What the Ninja Woodfire Grill does well
All-in-one cooking: woodfire technology, convection heating, and air frying in one unit, so you can grill steaks, air fry wings, or smoke a brisket without switching machines.
Large capacity: it'll grill 6 steaks or 30 hot dogs, air fry up to 3 lbs. of wings, and smoke a 9 lb. whole brisket. Plenty for a crowd without cooking in batches.
Faster cooks: the convection heat can smoke a rack of ribs in about 2 hours at 250 degrees, versus roughly 6 hours at 225 degrees in a traditional smoker. Handy when you want barbecue but don't have all day.
Simple to run: add your food and Kona wood pellets, set the temperature, and let it work. The woodfire technology does the rest and gives you that smoky flavor.
Why the pellets matter
Now the Kona Wood Pellets. They're 100% hardwood with no added oils or flavorings, so you get honest woodfire flavor with nothing artificial. They come in several hardwoods, including mesquite, hickory, apple, and cherry, so you can match the wood to what you're cooking, whether that's poultry, fish, or beef.
They ship in resealable bags, so a bag lasts across several cook sessions, and because they're made from precision-ground mature hardwood, they burn cleanly and efficiently.
What the Kona pellets give you
100% hardwood: no added oils or flavorings, just real woodfire flavor.
Versatile: mesquite, hickory, apple, and cherry let you pick the right flavor for poultry, fish, or beef.
Long-lasting: large resealable bags last across multiple grilling sessions.
Alright, on to the recipes.
Easy Smoky Pulled Pork
This one's a crowd-pleaser and great for a summer cookout or tailgate. It uses Kona's Sticky Fingers dry rub and a low-and-slow smoke. Grab your apron and fire up the grill.
Ingredients:
- 4 lbs. of boneless pork shoulder
- 4 tbsp. yellow mustard
- 2 tbsp. of your Kona's Beer Infused Sticky Fingers Rib Rub
- 1 tsp. of salt
- 1 tsp. of black pepper
- 1 tsp. of garlic powder
- 1 tsp. of onion powder
- 1 tsp. of paprika
- 1 tsp. of chili powder
- 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 1 cup of water
Instructions:
Coat the pork shoulder with a thin layer of mustard. This gives the seasonings something to stick to.
Mix the BBQ rub, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and chili powder, then rub it all over the pork shoulder.
Preheat the Ninja Woodfire Grill to 250 degrees and add Kona wood pellets (we like hickory or apple for this one).
Place the seasoned pork shoulder on the grates and smoke for 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195 degrees.
Take the pork off the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Shred the pork in a large bowl using two forks.
In a separate bowl, mix together the BBQ sauce and water.
Add the shredded pork to the BBQ sauce mixture and stir to combine.
Serve on a bun with extra BBQ sauce if you like.
Smoky Mountain Wings
These wings are a great addition to any cookout or tailgate, and they're ready in about 30 minutes thanks to the grill's air fryer function. The Kona Wood Pellets give you real woodfire flavor in every bite.
Ingredients:
- 4 lbs. of chicken wings
- 6 tsp. of Kona's Beer Infused Mother Cluckers Wing Dust
- 1 cup of your favorite wing sauce
Instructions:
Toss the chicken wings in a bowl with the Mother Cluckers Wing Dust until coated.
Preheat the Ninja Woodfire Grill to 390 degrees and add Kona wood pellets (we like mesquite or cherry here).
Place the wings on the grates and air fry for 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
Have your wing sauce ready in a separate bowl.
Take the wings off the grill and toss them in the wing sauce to coat.
Serve with extra wing sauce and your favorite dip.
